The MorphGate app is free, with every SSH, SFTP, tunnel and VPN feature. You pay only for hosted sync on morphgate.com. If you run your own sync server, sync costs nothing too.
The plans
- Free
- The full app on your own devices, without an account. Your vault stays on the device, encrypted. You can also sync for free through a server you run yourself. See Run your own sync server.
- Personal
- Hosted, end-to-end encrypted sync of your own vault on all your devices, with two-step verification, security emails, attachments and session logs. 49.99 a year.
- Team
- For a team: shared vaults with roles and key rotation, policies, offboarding, and a year of activity log. 79.99 per seat a year, or 14.99 per seat a month. At least 3 seats.
- Business
- Team, plus single sign-on (OpenID Connect and SAML), SCIM provisioning, device approval, team session logs, an audit stream and three years of activity log. 139.99 per seat a year, or 19.99 per seat a month. At least 3 seats. See The Business plan.
The prices above are in euros and include VAT; you can also pay in US dollars or pounds, at their own prices. When you subscribe, the account page shows the price in your currency, and any launch offer that applies.
A team's plan is separate from its members' own accounts. Each confirmed member of a paying team takes a seat, and the seat covers their personal vault too, so they don't need a Personal plan.
Free trials
- Your account: hosted sync is free for 7 days from when you create your sync account, once per email address. Deleting an account and creating a new one with the same address doesn't start a new trial.
- A team: a new team gets its own 7-day trial, once per address that creates a team. It includes the Business features, and has no seat limit.
- You don't need a card to start a trial. If you subscribe while more than two days of trial are left, the first charge waits until the trial ends.
- You get an email shortly before a trial ends, and the team's owner gets one for a team.
Subscribe
Personal
- Open your account page. From the app: Sync, then Manage account.
- Under Billing, pick the currency, then choose Subscribe.
- Pay on Stripe's checkout page.
Team or Business
- The team's owner opens the team page: on the account page, Manage next to the team. From the app, Manage plan on the team's page opens the account page.
- Under Team plan, enter the number of Seats (one per member, you included, at least 3), pick Team or Business and Yearly or Monthly, and choose Subscribe.
- Pay on Stripe's checkout page.
You pay by card through Stripe. MorphGate never sees your card details. Your subscription keeps the currency you chose.
Invoices, card and cancelling
Once you've subscribed, the account page shows Manage billing and invoices, and the team page Manage seats, billing and invoices. Both open Stripe's customer portal, where you can:
- download invoices and receipts,
- update your card,
- change the number of seats of a team,
- cancel the subscription.
Stripe emails receipts and tells you when a payment fails.
Seats
Seats limit how many people can be confirmed in a team. You can invite more people than you have seats; confirming them needs a free seat. Add seats in the customer portal, then confirm them in the app.
Changing between Team and Business
On the team page, a team on Team can Upgrade to Business, and a team on Business can Switch to Team. Seats and billing interval stay the same. See The Business plan.
When a trial or plan ends
- Nothing is deleted. Every device keeps its vault, and can still download from the server.
- Sending changes needs a running trial or plan. Without one, the Sync panel says the trial has ended or the plan has lapsed, and changes stay on the device until you subscribe or renew.
- If a payment fails, sync keeps working for 14 days while you sort it out. The app shows that the plan ended and is still syncing for a few days.
- For a team, members can still read the shared vaults but not change them, until the team has a plan again.
Self-hosting
The reference server has no plans, trials or billing. Everything it supports is available to everyone on it. See Run your own sync server.
