MorphGate is built in the open by Vallic. The app, the reference sync server and the protocol are on GitHub at github.com/valicm/MorphGate.
Report a problem
To report a bug in the app or the reference server, or to suggest a change, open an issue at github.com/valicm/MorphGate/issues. It helps to include:
- the MorphGate version and package, shown under About (the logo at the top of the sidebar);
- your operating system and version;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened, with the exact error text;
- for sync problems, whether you use morphgate.com or your own server.
What never to share
Issues on GitHub are public. Never post your master password, your recovery key, private keys, passwords, VPN configurations or an exported vault file. Nobody helping you needs them.
When a host key changes, the Copy details button in the warning copies the host's address, both fingerprints and where the old key is stored. It contains no secrets.
What support can't do
Your vault is end-to-end encrypted. Nobody at MorphGate can read it, reset your master password or turn off your two-step verification. Only your recovery key can, in the app. That also means a convincing email to support is not enough for someone to take over your account. See Master password and recovery key.
Before you ask
- Sync shows Sync problem: open Sync in the sidebar; the panel shows the last error. See How sync works.
- A device says Sign in to sync: it was signed out, often because the master password changed on another device. See Devices, signing in and signing out.
- A host key changed: read SSH keys and host keys before you remove anything.
- A team's vaults don't appear: see Inviting and confirming members, Single sign-on and Device approval.
